The village of Saint-Louis-de-Kent operates its wastewater collection and treatment under the S-1219 operating agreement, according to paragraph 8(1) of the Water Quality Regulation established under the Clean Environment Act.
All businesses, institutions and most of the village's dwellings are connected to the village's sewer system. This system treats wastewater from more than 700 users spread within as well as outside village limits. Daigle Park, a municipal camping ground, is also serviced by the system
|
Rebuilt in 2005, the water treatment system for the village offers three levels of treatment. Wastewater is first sent to a first aeration tank which allow for the increase of the level of oxygen dissolved in the wastewater. These then flow through gravity to the second basin which is non-aerated to be cleaned for a period of 15 days.
The village of Saint-Louis-de-Kent calls upon the Analytical Services Laboratory of the Department of the Environment for all analyses provided for in tis operating agreement.
